The CBSE Supplementary Examinations, formerly known as Compartment Examinations, for Class 10 and Class 12 will commence on July 15, 2025. Students can submit their application forms from May 30, 2025, to June 17, 2025. Applications may also be submitted until June 19, 2025, with a late fee of ₹2000.
These examinations provide an opportunity for Class 12 students placed in compartment in one subject, and Class 10 students placed in compartment in up to two subjects, to clear their respective classes. Following the recent main examinations, a total of 1,29,095 Class 12 students and 1,41,353 Class 10 students were placed in the compartment category.
The application fee is ₹300 per subject for students in India, ₹1000 per subject for students in Nepal, and ₹2000 per subject for other international students.
Students wishing to improve their scores are also eligible to apply for these supplementary examinations. Class 12 students may apply for a maximum of one subject for improvement, while Class 10 students may apply for a maximum of two subjects.
Additionally, Class 10 students who initially opted for Mathematics (Basic) can apply to appear for the Mathematics (Standard) examination, and vice versa.
These supplementary examinations cater to three categories of students:
- Students who were placed in compartment.
- Students who wish to improve their scores.
- Private candidates.
Supplementary Examination Schedule:
- For Class 10 Students: Examinations will begin on July 15, 2025. A detailed date sheet will be released shortly.
- For Class 12 Students: Examinations for all subjects will be conducted on a single day, July 15, 2025 (Tuesday).

It should be noted that CBSE will provide the online portal for Private Candidates only. Regular Candidates who would like to apply for Compartement or Improvement Exams will have to aplly through their schools only.
